Meet ADA and the Studio Owner, Kristin Jensen

If you’re looking for a studio with small class sizes, where your dancer will get the individual attention they deserve while building long-lasting friendships and learning proper technique, you’re in the right place. Our goal at ADA is to create a family of dancers who celebrate the art of dance and all it has to offer.

Dance isn’t just about technique. It is about having fun, learning in a positive environment, and being part of a team while also becoming a strong, confident individual. That is why I started ADA. I wanted to bring the joy back in dance, not focus on how many trophies our studio could acquire.

Growing up in Ankeny, I began attending Moore School of Dance at the age of three. There I was introduced to all styles of dance — ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, etc. — and I fell in love with art. I even went on to study at the University of Arizona and began my teaching career at Tucson Regional Ballet, the Academy of Ballet, and All That Dance. Through teaching I realized, even though I loved to dance and learning technique, it was the comradery, dedication, and passion of the dancers that really made an impact.

Competition Team

Would you like to take your dance skills to the next level?  Competition team provides the extra push you may be looking for.  Any interested dancer is welcome to join our competition team.  We attend 2 – 3 central Iowa competitions annually.  Although we’ve won many high points, we are especially proud of our special awards such as Director’s Choice and Studio Sportsmanship.  These awards reflect our belief that competition should be a positive experience and that what happens off stage is as important as how we perform on stage.
