Ballet – Ladies should wear pink tights, leotard, hair in a bun, no cover-ups, no underwear.
Other Classes – Ladies should wear tight fitting tops and jazz pants. No regular bras. Sports bras only.
Boys – Should wear tight fitting t-shirt and jazz pants or ballet tights.
Shoes – Appropriate shoes are required – ballet shoes for ballet; jazz shoes for jazz; tap shoes for tap; bare foot for contemporary and lyrical; character shoes for musical theater. The instructor has the right to request the specific shoes that he/she desires.
Hair – Hair must be kept back, out of the face, and not interfere with class.
All registration fees and first months tuition are due by the first day of each class, per semester. A payment plan can be created with Kristin Jensen.
A non-refundable registration fee of $40 is due with the initial payment for the year/session. This fee is added to the total due and must be paid before the students spot is guaranteed in the class.
Advanced Dance Academy accepts cash or checks.
All checks should be made payable to Advanced Dance Academy.
A $25 fee will be charged for returned checks.
Students can withdraw from a class by the completion of the second class and receive a refund for the cost of the first two classes.
After the second class of the semester, all tuition is forfeited and no refunds will be offered.
ADA reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient attendance. Alternative placement or refunds will be offered under such circumstance.
Instructors are subject to change. No credits or refunds will be issued in this case.
Arrival and Attendance
Students arriving more than five minutes late to class will not be permitted to join. Late students may observe.
Children ages 8 and under MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian or known adult when entering or exiting the building.
If students are early, students should wait in the lobby for their instructor.
If a student is more than 20 minutes early, they may be subject to a babysitting fee of $10 per occurrence.
Please have your child visit the restroom before class.
Students may change in the restroom before class.
Parents may wait in the lobby. Once a semester there will be an Observation Day when parents are invited inside the classroom to watch.
Classes and Instruction
ADA and its instructors are not liable for any injuries sustained while a student is in class or on the premises.
No video, audio, cameras, or any other recording devices are allowed in the studios, with the exception of parent observation days.
Parents are not allowed in the studios before or after class, with the exception of classes requiring caregiver participation.
For technique classes, the first day of class should be considered a placement day. ADA reserves the right to move students to the most appropriate class to fit their needs.
In the event that classes are canceled due to inclement weather, there will be either make-up days, credit, or refunds provided.
No food, gum, or liquid other than water are permitted in the studio.
Parents will be notified and consulted regarding any in-class behavioral issues or questions.
If a child acts out in class in a manner that is harmful to him/herself or others, that child shall be removed from class and parents shall be notified immediately.
Children will be dropped from a class if their behavior interferes with safety or is chronically disruptive. We may recommend that your child be moved to a more appropriate class level if needed.
